The Anti-Me

I came across a reference to this conservative website tonight. From the reference, I expected that I wouldn’t find much in common, but I was curious. After a quick look (I warned you that this spring’s posts will be quick) I was stunned to find absolute, unequivocal, 100% discordance! We’re talking polar opposites! Night and day! Yin and yang! Apples and oranges! Or, as that great American philosopher, Bill Murray opined: “Dogs and cats living together!”

Yeah, America needs saving. But FROM, not BY folks like this.

  1. Makes you wonder if they read the document —”We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

  3. Maybe I’m just too touchy, but all this talk about reclaiming America makes me wonder when was it stolen and by whom? I really don’t think that would like their answer. What’s up with Tom DeLay signing on to this paranoid manifesto and Phyllis Schafly–is she immortal?

  5. I think the “Why?” section was very telling:

    *Because we are losing the America we know and love
    *Because the ambition, power-lust and utopian fantasies of the liberal/left elite are leading us to moral, intellectual and fiscal bankruptcy
    *Because there is widespread confusion about the course our country needs to take to recover its former greatness

    “Losing the America we know and love.” Once again, they are showing that they are afraid of the “other.” Other races, other religions (or lack thereof), other opinions, other lifestyles. They are all about fear. What a terrible thing it must be to live your life that way.

    Thanks for digging through their site. I obviously agree. I felt on November that I “got my country back” but there is clearly so much left to do.
