Alan at Robert’s Roost almost always responds to my political rants with the combination of an insightful response and a suggestion that I step back and smell the roses (or some such ‘take a deep breath’ kind of advice). I appreciate that. So this evening, while killing a few minutes before my weekly trip to mom’s, I came across the following video of stills set to ”Round Midnight’. The song was written in the early 1940s by a man who was born in the NC city that was later the closest thing I had to a hometown. Here it’s interpreted by another North Carolinian that I admire so much I named my Lab after him. The other guy’s not too shabby either.
Enjoy. It truly doesn’t get any better than this.

That”s more like it!
On a political note, I think I have this financial thing finally figured out. Rather than being frugal, saving money and trying to live with in my means, I should be running up as much debt as possible. If I can get far enough in debt the government will step in and make it all go away.
Yes, I know we have to prop up the “economy”, but it seems like we are rewarding the wrong thing.
Thanks for the music. Great way to de-stress.
