Between my wife’s sailing, my work with trees for firewood and the rare opportunity to fish, I have a handful of knots committed to memory. But I realize that there are often better knots (stronger, easier to tie/untie, better suited to the task and material) than the ones I often fall back on. Case in point, a few weeks ago I went fishing and lost three small bass (and three popping bugs) when the knots in my four-pound test fly leader kept failing.
So in anticipation of maybe being able to fish this weekend, I went looking for a graphic on the web, that re-taught me a long-forgotten ‘improved clinch knot’. I came across this site that I think could come in really handy in the future. It’s cleverly designed and very user friendly. Check it out.

Thanks for posting this link. I’ll be using it personally here on the farm (a square knot can only do so much…) and with my cub scouts.
Stay Safe!
