A very quick update following a wonderful eight day vacation in Nova Scotia. This was our second big vacation in all our years together and it was truly spectacular. I’ll work on getting some pictures up as soon as we dig out here at home from being away for far too long in the midst of the gardening season.

So for now I’ll just share one of our last pictures; one of a few kiosks designed to entertain kids at the Halifax, NS airport. It was full of levers to pull and wheels to turn, etc. But after watching a succession of world-traveling (and assuredly germ-laden) toddlers take turns at the kiosks, I began to wonder at the wisdom of locating such spectacular fomites in an international airport….
Yeah, I wasn’t completely on vacation.
Much better pictures to follow.

I know what you mean…I always think about how things like that are just teeming with viruses and bacteria, and did the person who touched this last have MRSA? LOL Love the title of this entry, by the way.
Well, we could make all of our childen wear little biohazard suits or at the very least, face masks. Like the title, also.
Sure I was trying to be cute with this quick post, as evidenced by the title. But the more I think about it, the dumber it seems to have toddlers, the best disease transmitters since medieval Europe’s Norway rat, take turns at handling a toy in the lobby of an international airport. One kid passing through who’s incubating H1N1 flu or the next incarnation of SARS, and forty-eight hours later the disease is worldwide with no way to backtrack who else might have been exposed.
Seems a might risky just to entertain the wee ones.
Yeah, I know. I was being cute with my comment, but you certainly have a valid point and I don’t think that I’d want my child (if I had one) playing on that thing. However, you still made me laugh with the line about toddlers as disease transmitters. I have a warped sense of humor.
